Not Just a New Feature: Blazie Products Have a New Town!

Two years ago, there was a new computer in town called BT Speak. Today, we’re turning that idea on its head, by bringing an entire town into BT Speak (and BT Braille). Welcome to BT Towne. You’ll find it in the Applications menu under Games, but BT Towne is much more than a game. It’s a unique open-world social experience, designed exclusively BT Speak and BT Braille users. It's a place to explore, interact, connect, and play games and music.

And this is just the beginning. What you’ll learn below reflects BT Towne as it exists today, but the town is already growing, with new rooms, features, and experiences on the way.

Where to first?

Once you enter BT Towne, press G to explore the community spaces. You’ll be presented with a menu of locations, including the tavern, town square, private room, chapel, game room, and wharf. Each location shows how many users are currently there, and you can press Enter to join any room.

Every space features its own unique audio environment, bringing the town to life. In the tavern, for example, you’ll hear music along with the lively sounds of conversation, footsteps, whistling, and even the occasional dog bark. We are confident it is a guide dog.

You’re always in control of the experience. Both music and sound effect levels can be adjusted to your preference. You may also hear friendly offers of food and drink from our AI bartender, which can be muted at any time if you prefer a quieter atmosphere.

Chat is Where It’s At

BT Towne is all about conversation. You can chat with the AI bartender as well as with other users who are in the same room. In the chat window, press dots 5-6-chord to enter your preferred literary Braille code, including all the contractions you know and love. You can even review the chat history to revisit earlier messages at any time.

These spaces are designed for connection. Whether you want to talk about sports, radio, or anything else on your mind, you’ll find others ready to join the conversation. Blazie team members often spend time in these rooms as well, and they are always happy to answer questions and help you navigate the lay of the land.

Every Town Needs Options

To get an interactive menu containing all of the available options, just press the letter O. A menu of options will become available. You can navigate it just like any other menu and when you get to the option that interests you, press enter.

BT Towne is Still Growing

BT Towne is just getting started, and where it goes next depends on you. New spaces, surprises, and activities are already in the works, including games, scavenger hunts, and the occasional hidden gem waiting to be discovered. We are building the foundation, but the spirit of the town comes from the people who show up and make it their own.

Consider this your invitation to help shape what BT Towne becomes. Stop by, explore, strike up a conversation, and let us know what you would love to see next. We will keep adding to the map as long as there are places worth building and people who want to be there.

BT Towne is available starting with the March 2026 update, which is ready now. If you have not installed it yet, go ahead and update, then come find us in town.
