I Just Got My New BT Speak. Now What Do I Do?

After placing your order with us and receiving your new BT Speak, you open the box, examine the contents and you might then be wondering what you should do next. How can you learn about how to turn on your new BT Speak so you can start using it and learning about all of the features that it offers.

Check Your Email

One of the first things Blazie Technologies does after receiving an order for a BT Speak is to email each new customer a copy of our Getting Started guide as well as our complete users’ manual. Check your email to see if you received anything from Blazie Technologies. If you don’t find an email from us in your inbox, check your junk or spam folder in the event that your email program sent it to that folder. If you still don’t have it, reach out to us by phone or email and we’ll be happy to resend it to you. You can call us at (772) 214-1616 or email support@blazie.net to request it.

… Or Check Our Web Site

Our Web site’s Guides and Media page also contains the latest edition of our BT Speak Users’ Manual and our Getting Started guide. In addition, it also has our audio tutorial, which walks you through unboxing, powering on, using the editor and other tasks. The audio tutorial will definitely get you up and running but the users’ manual provides a more comprehensive view containing instructions for many more BT Speak features.

On BT Speak, Help is a Keystroke Away

Once you power on your BT Speak, typing H-chord always gives you context-sensitive help wherever you happen to be working. For example, if you’re writing a document, typing H-chord gives you a list of keystrokes that you can use for editing. If you’re in the calculator, typing H-chord gives you a list of calculator commands. Try it! Type H-chord from anywhere and get a relevant list of commands.

Help Topics

BT Speak has over 70 context-sensitive help topics. If you want to browse a list containing all of them, type O-chord for the Options menu, followed by H for Help. You’ll find a list of all of the help topics. You can press the space key to move forward through the list of topics or dot 7 (the key to the left of the space key) to move backward through the list of topics. When you find a help topic that interests you, press enter to open it.

Guides and Tutorials

After typing O-chord followed by H, the first item in the list is Guides and Tutorials. Press enter and, among other things, you’ll find our Getting Started Guide as well as our latest Users’ Manual. The Guides and Tutorials section also includes our Audio Tutorial, as well as audio tutorials for some of our other features.

Welcome to the Welcome Screen

When you power on BT Speak for the first time, you’ll be in a file that we call the welcome screen. This file introduces you to BT Speak by providing links to different help topics which may be very useful, particularly for new users. It also provides a link to the Getting Started guide, which will tell you everything you need to know in order to hit the ground running with your new BT Speak. You can get back to the welcome screen at any time by typing E-chord to open the Editor menu, followed by W to open the welcome screen.

Call or Email for Support

If we may say so, we feel that our customer support is one of BT Speak’s best features. If you need help or have a question regarding your BT Speak, reach out to us by phone or email. Call us at (772) 214-1616 or email your question to support@blazie.net.

Join our Forum

You are also invited to join our support forum. Your question might be answered not just by a Blazie Technologies team member but by other customers on the group who might have answers for you. After a while, you might even feel inclined to pass along what you’ve learned about BT Speak to someone else. To join our support forum, send email to btspeak+subscribe@groups.io
